Windows 10: Unable to switch from Local account to Microsoft account on windows 11

Hi, I have been having issues with my laptop lately, my antivirus kept adding system files to quarantine and the likes, I tried fixing them by switch to a local account and dealing with the issue from there but when I try to switch back to a Microsoft account, I can't seem to do that, when I click sign in with a Microsoft account instead in settings>accounts>your info, it brief pop up appears but then vanishes whenever I click the button, anything related to signing into my Microsoft account has been the same, I also tried creating another local account and signing in from there but the

Yea, I would create a local account and just use your school account to login to Outlook and Onedrive.

I was thinking of doing that, but it will be a PITA setting everything up on the 2nd account again. I might go that way and just spend the time getting the account in order.

The problem is, I would need to switch at the start of every day. Extra reset and waiting for the settings to be applied etc. Also, I'm not sure whether one drive would be maintained after switching back to a local account. I wouldn't want to have to re-sync every time I logged in. I may have to do some testing to see if onedrive is maintained after switching back to a local account.

Thank you for the update.

Please convert to Local account and back to Microsoft Account. To switch to a local account, please follow the below steps.

To switch to a local account.

Press “Windows + I” keys to open settings.

Select Change PC settings.

Select Users.

On the right side, it will show your current account with an option "Switch to a local account”.

Select “switch to a local account” and follow the steps to switch your Microsoft account into a local account. Once this is done your Microsoft account is safe and not linked with that computer anymore.

To convert a local account to Microsoft Account you may try these steps:

From the “Change PC settings” screen, tap or click Users.

Tap or click Switch to a Microsoft account and follow the instructions.

Also, check for pending updates and install them.
