Windows 10: Unable to turn bluetooth on or off on windows 10

I recently purchased some new bluetooth headphones, i managed to connect them to my computer on first use. after disconnecting them and connecting them again at a later time they werent woking properly, i was unable to hear any audio coming through. after disconnecting them and attempting to remove the device the switch to turn bluetooth on or off simply disappeared from the settings. i attemped a few fixes like verifying the drivers but that has lead me nowhere. i would really love to fix this issue without having to reset my device.

Unable to turn off bluetooth in Windows 10

As per the issue description it seems that you are unable to turn off Bluetooth in Windows 10. As you are worried because your computer is searching for devices to connect with.

So, here is one way through which you can stop your computer to search for Bluetooth devices. This can be done by stopping the Bluetooth services which is responsible for Bluetooth devices. Here are the steps through which you can stop Bluetooth service
and Bluetooth devices to work.

• Press Windows key + R
• Type services.msc and press
  Ok
• Find Bluetooth Support Service
  
• Right click on the service and click on Stop.

Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision

What is the make and model of your computer?

First I would suggest you to check whether your airplane mode is on or off.

Kindly refer the steps below to check for the airplane mode:

• Press Windows key + I form keyboard to open setting.
• Go to network and internet.
• Click on Airplane mode and select turn off.

Please refer the following steps to find Bluetooth:

• Select Start > Settings > Devices >
  Bluetooth.
• Select More Bluetooth options to find more Bluetooth settings.
