    Recently I've noticed a bug that makes Windows hard to use for any purpose. At unpredictable intervals, Windows will stop registering 'c', 'h' and 'v' characters. This isnot a hardware issue - I've tried several different wired and wireless keyboards on my Windows installation,as well as the built-in onscreen keyboard, and it makes no difference whatsoever. Meanwhile, I'venever experienced this on my Arch Linux installation on the same computer.

    This is also not a software-specific issue - when the bug starts, it persists across applications, and it seems to start just the same regardless of what I'm doing at the time.


    The only thing that seems to fix it temporarily is giving the Windows/Super key a double-tap. After that, it's smooth sailing for a few minutes... until the same issue starts again, usually less than an hour later. I don't consider that a true fix at all.


    Variations of this problem have been reported since at least Windows 7, and to my knowledge, a real resolution has never been reported - only workarounds. I'm starting to get really irritated, especially it's interrupted important work and crucial moments in video games several times now. My list of reasons to abandon Microsoft altogether in favor of FOSS alternatives is getting longer and longer. Can someoneplease tell me they know a solution for this?

    For us to isolate your concern, we suggest that you follow the steps posted below to troubleshoot any errors that can cause your files from being displayed.

    Here are steps:

    • Type CMD in the search bar.
    • Copy and paste the following command:

      attrib -h -r -s /s /d c:\*.*
    • Press Enter.
    • Restart your computer, then check if the same issue will occur.
