Unable to type quotation marks when pressing [Shift + `]

I`ve been trying to troubleshoot my apostrophe/ quotation key for weeks now. I went into settings and confirmed I`m in US English. However I get backwards apostrophe, and when I press [Shift + `] I get "~" this symbol instead. I recently learned about on screen keyboard but I need to solve this for my keyboard since it`s my work computer. How do I get my computer to stop generating ~ when I press the quotation button?

    :)

  2. Dumb Windows 10 quotation mark input

I've tired to fight against Windows 10 input method. It's stupid and extremely irritating. I have English United States-International keyboard and when I press ' or Shift+' no characters are printed to input. Only when I press the same key again again it
outputs two same characters. So when I want to put some thing to quotation mark I must do next steps:

    • Press Shift+'
    • Press Shift+'
    • Press left arrow
    • Input text
    • Press right arrow
    Compare with previous flow

    • Press Shift+'
    • Input text
    • Press Shift+'
Looks much more simple? Yes? So, what the hell made you MS to "improve" quotation mark inputting? And so what I have to do if I just <removed> want to input only one quotation mark character? Press Shift+' twice and after then backspace? Are you <removed>
crazy? Where in settings maze are you hiding option to fix this issue? Who is that "genius" who invented this <removed>? When MS hired this "genius" did
the interview checked competency or there was
senseless questions like "Why manhole covers are typically round"? Who did approve this "genius" improvement? Are you <removed>OK?

Unable to type quotation mark (“) properly

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that when you need to press the ()
key twice or press it once followed by a character to get the quotation mark () printed on the screen.

I would like to inform you that if you are using a US – International keyboard, you will need to press the () key twice or press it once followed by a character to get the quotation mark () printed on the screen.
As this is by design for the US - International keyboard.

Similarly, if you are using a United Kingdom keyboard for English (Australia), you will see a change in the
@ and keys. As they are swapped to accommodate the Australian keyboard.

As an alternative, you might want to try using the United States keyboard, which should allow you to type the characters properly. To install the United States keyboard, refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows logo key + I, to open
      Settings.
    2. Click on Time & Language and click on
      Language on the left pane.
    3. Now, click on English (Australia) language pack and select
      Options.
    4. Click on Add a keyboard and select
      United States (US).

  4. Unable to type quotation marks when pressing [Shift + `]

    Can't type quotation marks (")

    Hi,

Normally when using US (International keyboard) settings, typing [ Shift + ' + Space ] gives you [ " ]. However, for me both typing [ ' + Space] and typing [ Shift + ' + Space ] all give me [ ' ]. In order to type a quotation mark, my only option is to
type [ Shift + ' + ' ], which gives me [ ' " ], and then I can delete the single quote. I have tried different keyboard settings, but they don't fix the problem. Does anybody know how I can fix the issue? Please, feel free to ask for any additional information
    if needed.
