unable to update because "driver that locked to manufacturer specifications"

My laptop is Acer Aspire E5-476G with Intel Core i5 8250U, that message appears when I want to update my driver, the manufacturer's website provides drivers that stopped being updated in 2017 https://www.acer.com/id-id/support/product-support/E5-476G/UN.GX0SD.001/downloads that's why I tried downloading it from the Intel website directly, is there a way around this? thanks

    :)

  2. Unable to Update Intel Graphics Drivers

I'm having a bit of a hard time with this driver update. Currently I'm on 10.18.10.4425 and need to update to 15.33.43.4425 however partway through the process the PC locks up and is unable to continue. I'm using the update tool I downloaded from the website so there shoud be no problems right?

This is where it locks up:

Lenovo Laptop CPU Driver Unable to Update to CPU Manufacturer

Okay, those are the first step 'have you considered this' types of solutions, and I appreciate your advice. Still, while my Lenovo does a pretty good job of keeping itself updated in most areas, when it comes to CPU and GPU the Lenovo site and Vantage are woefully outdated.

In fact, I was unable to even open Call of Duty War Zone until I upgraded the GPU driver to the GeForce driver (instead of Lenovo's Vantage version).

Unfortunately, my game still crashes a lot, and I cannot help but think if I upgraded the CPU driver to the hardware manufacturer's driver instead of the computer manufacturer's driver, like I said in my original post, then the computer would perform more as it should. After all, Lenovo essentially just recycles the hardware drivers a few months, years, decades, or never later.

So, any ideas on how to do this?

Random lock up, in DESPERATE need of help.

Lock ups can be caused by overheating, or sound failure.

Make sure you update your chipset drivers for audio. Also tell me step by step of how you install your heatsink.
