Windows 10: Unable to update the password. Even disabled the password complexity, length, history...

Please Help!We have a problem in change the passwords of those users joined in Active Directory. I already disable the GP in my AD server and under the user's account. But the same issue, changing a password is requiring complexity under my domain. Please note. I have 2 AD server that synchronize together. I checked the 2 domain, and they are the same settings. I hope anyone can help me in this issue. Well appreciated. Thank you

Hi all,

When I create a new user account or when I try to change a password, I have now this message :

Check the minimum password length password complexity and password history requirements

So, I have to create passwords with 14 characters at least, I don't know why.

I didn't change anything on my AD server. And "Password must meet complexity requirements" is disabled. I tried to enable it and set "minimum password length" to 2 characters. But it doesn't change anything, I still have to create passwords with 14 chararters
at least.

Do you know what could be the cause of this issue ? We have a windows 2012 server.

I got a new desktop set up for use by creating a user while setting up the PC.

Details of PC:

HP Prodesk 600 G3

Windows version: Windows 10 x64 Bit 1709

All Stand alone PC

now after providing the password i wanted to change through Alt+Ctrl+Del menu it giving me an error

"Unable to update the password. The value provided for the new password doesn't meet the length, complexity, or history requirement of the domain"





I tried from the Computer management windows by enabling the Administrator and tried to set the blank password it gives following error

The password does not meet the password policy requirements. Check the minimum password length, password complexity and password history requirements.

It's really frustrating and we have all more than 200 PC need to be setup We found these issue in all other Preinstalled Windows 10 HP system.

Kindly provide any hot fix or KB update for the same.

So we can set up other systems.

Even we checked the Group Policy setting these two settings are disabled then why these settings are getting enforced?









For testing purpose we have ran test on one system we have perform windows update after a whole night update today mornig we did the update for the same it was taking the blank password from the Computer Management user Accounct menu.

If you can identify the actual update and download link for the same.

 

Disable the password complexity

How do i disable the password complexity when i login to my PC?

I am able to create a one letter password previously which i find it convenient.

I dont need a lengthy password.

However, after a recent update i need to add complexity of my password.

I tried to run gpedit.msc but and an error (Windows cannot find 'gpedit.msc'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.) was shown. I also tried to run gpmc.msc and a similar error pops up.
