Windows 10: Unable to update Windows 10

I'm unable to update Win 10, having tried everything suggested over the last 3 days I'm now at a complete loss.


When the updater runs it returns "your device is missing important security and quality fixes 2019-09 Cumulative Update for NET Framework 3.5,4.7.2 and 4.8 for windows 10 version 1809 for x64 (KB4156550)

2019-09 Cumulative Update for windows 10 version 1809 for x64 based systems (4512578)

status Download error - 0x80070002"


I've run the Windows trouble shooter and carried out all the suggestions including running the 2019-09 Servicing Stack Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based Systems (KB4512577). I even tried downloading and running the Feature update for Widows 10 version 1903 with no success.


My PC is running Win 10 Pro ver 1809 OS build 17763.557

Intel Core i5-6600K@3.50=GHz

8.00 GB Ram

x64 bit OS

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
