    So my pc came preloaded with windows 7, and included an upgrade disk to 8 professional. Around 1/1/22 I started having data corruption issues which after numerous and reapeated attempts at saving the data via copying to another drive\vhd\vhdk\dd etc etc, the drive was finally diagnosed as the culprit.I have another drive now and started with my windows 7 discs, installed fine but wouldn't update...went to the windows 8 upgrade cd, upgraded no problem. Try to run windows update and it fails with ie, no surprise, try to download edge, ie won't download it, download and install GC, use GC to down

    Windows 7 OEM key

    Generally the upgrade has to be done first, before a clean install can be done, and it's not really relevant to transferring the key to another system.

    Can't upgrade to an OEM version of Windows 10 Pro with product key

    Did you check your key with ShowKey? That error says the key is invalid.

    It may work .

    I'm thinking you'd be able to activate your W10 Pro install with your W10 Pro key after the upgrade.
