Windows 10: Unable to use any troubleshoot methods for BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO

HiI was using my laptop when I put it to sleep briefly. After coming back, when I tried starting the system, it would not open. I forced it to shut down then restarted the system. However, I ran into an error, BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO. Since then, the PC just keeps restarting. I've tried resetting the PC with both cloud and local system, and the message says the machine is unable to do so. I even tried startup repair some 15 times. Then I tried system restore which couldn't find any restore point. Finally, I tried uninstalling last feature update but it wouldn't let me uninstall. I also never ge

The error Bad System Config means that something is wrong with the registry on your PC and you'll need to return to a previous configuration. It would be great, if you can help us with the details requested below:

• When do you get the error message?
  
• Does the computer boot to the Desktop?
  
• What is the make and model of the computer?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  

I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned in the article
Error 0x74: Bad_system_config_info and see if that helps.



Note: The last step in the above article talks about performing a reset on the computer. Resetting the computer will delete all the files and applications from the computer. Do not perform reset on your computer.

Got it. In that case switch to the WinRE Repair Mode or bootable media provided in this tutorial which includes everything possible to get Windows started, up to if necessary replacing the User account in order to save the install, doing an automated Reset, or the gold standard Clean Install:

If you have files that aren't backed up then there is a step to rescue them first. using the Command Prompt in WinRE or bootable media:

Bad System Config Info

Hi John,

Thanks so much for your suggestion. Sadly, the fixes did not work, and I'm still getting "bad system config info."

MS support is still not honoring phone calls reserved in advance/promises to call back in a few minutes-- must say I'm disappointed.

Any further ideas?
