Windows 10: Unable to use back up/restore ?!

Discus and support Unable to use back up/restore ?! in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I want to back up the C drive which has the OS on, just in case the hard disc crashes, I have done this in the past without a problem but in windows 10...     Unable to use back up/restore ?!


    I want to back up the C drive which has the OS on, just in case the hard disc crashes, I have done this in the past without a problem but in windows 10 I get a message that it cannot be done because the target drive has insufficient capacity, however the back up file is 37.5GB and the drive has 345.57GB capacity available. I think I read somewhere that backup requires the same size as target drive as the drive the OS resides on.In my situation that partition is 903GB.If that is the case, can I safely reduce the size of the partition to say 300GB.
