Windows 10: Unable to use phone link

I was willing to use Phone Link because other third-party phone link apps didn't appeal to me. However, when I opened the app, I saw a message saying, "Your Windows version needs an update." It explained that I must be on the Windows 10 May 2020 update 20H1 to use Phone Link. However, I am on Windows 10 build 20H2, which I believe came after 20H1. I have already done the following: - Repaired and reset the app - Downloaded the latest version of Phone Link - Checked for system updates Nothing appeared except an insider preview of Windows 11. I won't use that because the Microsoft Store cor

Thanks so much. I will certainly follow your tutorial in the future. I think resetting did the trick, and I was also able to set a pin code. Question. I am confused about one ongoing step: "Go to www.aka.ms/addComputer" in your browser." A search for this, and other similar url's suggested in the Phone LInk setup always ends up the same way, with a trip to nowhere.

Clicking in those types of links end up in a blank tab

 

Supported phones for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Mobile

Your list confirms my phone is eligible, Lumia 521. The windows Insider App fails after ~ 15 seconds, restores data and gives me error 80073cf9. I trouble shot this and went thru all the steps mentioned on several websites including MS without any luck. Short of a hard reset, this is where I am now. Suggestions appreciated.

 

Phone Link App does not open/start

I have already tried these steps, and just tried again now.

I additionally tried to run Repair as well as Reset, but the App still does not run.

I had seen the post from the link you sent here, but found this not very useful, as some of the instructions suggested do not seem to exist on my Windows edition, and also require the App to open to get to the suggestions listed, which I am unable to do.

Just to clarify, I am running Windows 11 Pro Version 23H2.
