Windows 10: Unable to Use Search Function on Windows 10

I am unable to use the search function on my Windows 10 PC. When I type the name of installed applications in the search bar, they do not appear in the results. I've restarted the PC and attempted multiple troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists.Operating System: Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 OS Build 19045.3803Hardware: Custom-built desktop with Intel i7 10700F processor, Nvidia 1660 Super graphics card, ASROCK Z490M Pro4 motherboard, 16 GB RAM, and M.2 SSD.Restarting Windows Search Service: I opened services.msc and restarted the Windows Search service, ensuring it was setTroubleshoote

Disable Search Function

Greetings all,

I need to disable the Search function in Windows 10 Pro. Upgraded from Windows 7, where the Search function was listed as a feature and could be disabled as one through the Control Panel. Apparently not so in Win 10 as it's not listed as feature.

I can disable Cortana and using the Search function to search the web,but in need of disabling the Search function entirely. Computer is in a public environment and needs to be locked down. The unit has only one purpose and that is accessed through the browser.

I am unable to find a way through the Policy settings and through PowerShell.

My search is not functioning

1. Use the shortcut Ctrl-Shift-Esc to open the Task Manager.
2. If you see only a handful programs listed by it click on the "more details" link.
3. Locate "Cortana" under background processes.
4. Right-click on the process and select "end task" from the context menu.

The Cortana process is reloaded right away by the operating system.
