Windows 10: Unable to use USB DVD Roms on Windows 10

Hi there! I've been struggling with my current Win10 and my MANY DVD/CD Drives that I want to use. Since I don't have any more SATA ports left, I'm using USB-SATA Adapter, which really works fine with everything. But there's one slight problem... DVD drivers are completely unusable under NO circumstances. I tried updating all the drivers I have, checked BIOS/UEFI for any troubles, updated some files in REGEDIT, did the same thing in powershell, but nothing works on me. Symptoms: Disk is plugged into USB every single port is tested and working, disk shows up in "My Computer", but when I inser

How to setup DVD ROM for Window 10?

I would like to know on how to setup DVD ROM on window 10.

On Window 7, when I plug in DVD Rom, it can read DVD.

On Window 10, when I plug in DVD Rom, it cannot read DVD and keep detecting forever

Does anyone have any suggestions on what wrong it is?

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

 

DVD/CD Drive Saying CD-Rom

My Dvd drive is listed in my device manager however it is set as cd rom in the description, it also wont open and is not set as my default drive, any suggestions?

windows 10 if that changes anything
