Windows 10: Unable to use Windows HDR

Recently, I've been trying to watch a film in 4K by connecting my PC to my TV screen with a HDMI cable. I set my resolution to 4K with Nvidia graphics card, but I still couldn't turn on the HDR mode in Windows. But then I lowered my fps to below 30 and it finally worked. But when I actually played the video in VLC, Windows would just revert to regular mode. Why am I unable to use HDR? Also, another thing; I went in that thing can't remember what's it called but you click Windows key + R and type something and it showed some specifics, saying that 4k and AdvancedColor were supported, but it d

tower PC .. windows 10 pro regularly updated.. version 20H2 os build..19042.1288
monitor LG 55in tv resolution 4096x2160 (hdr compatible)

On diplay settings page.. use HDR toggle switch is set to off.. (not greyed out)..
When I click to on.. the screen goes black for 1 second then as the picture reappears..
I see the toggle switch back to off..
I have checked the DXDIAG log and HDR is ok.. (log attached) and in the registry (video settings) value 1
Any suggestions anyone?

The image that you have provided shows the 'Display capabilities' of the display that is currently connected. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

• Are you connecting the TV as a secondary monitor?
  
• Was there any change or an update on your system before which you were able to change the options in the Windows HD Color setting section?
  

Meanwhile, there are a few requirements that have to be in place for you to be able to notice a change in the Display capabilities. I would suggest you to refer the article on

HDR and WCG color settings in Windows 10 and check if it is helpful to you.

HDR streaming not turning on.

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  
• What is the make and model of the PC?
