Windows 10: Unable to view / extract files in Microsoft file explorer

DISCLAIMER: I have the version listed as "Windows 10", but this happens on Windows 11 too. Hi, The company I work for has been experiencing an increasing issue with our office workstations when it comes to viewing files from .zip files. When we open the zip folder and try to open a file within it, it can't open the file. But when we use the file extractor built-into Windows file explorer to extract the files, there's either nothing in the folder, or the vast majority of files are missing. Our workaround has been to use 7-Zip to extract and view the files. This issue has been going on for over

Are the step-by-step processes identical? That is, the folder extracted from and the folder extracted to belong to the same hierarchical file system structure. If they are, that suggests mildly the Cumulative Update left an electron or two out of place.

  Select Detail panel.

  Now if you click on any picture or file you will be able to see the information at the top right corner.

Extracting Zip Files

Thanks pyramid10 for your contribution, I ensured that the steps taken and the source and destination folders were the same, in the using zip7 as suggested by BunnyJ resolved all issues for me.
I am the first to admit that I am a long long way from understanding the intricacies of computers and if truth be told I am now to old anyway to absorb much information.
