Windows 10: Unable update the windows and whole system cannot run well (long post,TL;DR)

Hi guys, need some help over here.. Whenever I try to update the windows, It said "cannot applying the update, undoing the update" (the info at least said that).

And then I try to update via Update Assistant,ok the update assistant works fine,Its done 30% to apply the changes to ver 2004, but suddenly BSOD and the error code was "KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE" and I was paranoid it fail in the middle the update, and yes, I cannot boot to the OS.

I try to fresh install the windows 10, and sometimes its freezed whenever I click the "Install now" button. But fortunately I can install the OS at that time. BUT, when I want to install GPU driver (GTX 1050Ti), new error code called "MEMORY MANAGEMENT" comes up. I tried to switch the RAM slot and clean it but there's no effect, and I tried to use the memory diagnostic tool to test if my RAM is faulty or not. i try that twice but the info says "no problem has been detected yet"

And I tried to open cmd and type "SFC /SCANNOW" but there's no error.

TL;DR: 1. Windows cannot update, it keeps undoing the update on restart 2. Update from update assistant, 30% progress suddenly bsod "kernel security check failure" 3. Tried to fresh install, sometimes it froze when I want to install 3a. It success to fresh install 4. Try to install gpu driver, bsod "memory management" 5. Change ram slot but no effect 6. Try to check ram with memory diagnostic tool and cmd sfc /scannow can't find the error either

I'm not sure if this was motherboard failure or RAM sticks or maybe my ssd.

Any tips and/or suggestion for this issue? Thanks a lot!

Unable to run TLS 1.2

Hi,

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue. I understand that you are unable to enable TLS 1.2 on your computer. I’ll certainly assist you with this.



You may want to try the steps mentioned below to enable TLS 1.2 and see if that helps:

1. Press Windows logo key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type inetcpl.cpl and click on
   OK.
   
3. Click on Advanced tab.
   
4. Scroll down, under Security, select the checkbox for
   Use TLS 1.2.
   
5. Click on OK.

You may also get in touch with the

Microsoft Edge TLS Security

After trying everything (not a lot of steps) listed in the Microsoft Edge support site, I did a wider search and found this very simple youtube video that fixed it immediately:

For those who prefer not to click links the steps are simple:

1. Click in the Cortana search bar next to the Win 10 Start button

2. Type internet options

3. Select internet options (control panel) from the list

4. Click on the advanced tab

5. Scroll down to the security section

6. Make sure the following are all clicked:
Use SSL 3.0
Use TLS 1.0
Use TLS 1.1
Use TLS 1.2

7. Click apply

8. Refresh the page that was giving the error and it should now connect.

Hope this helps, it was a 30 second fix after hours of pounding my head against the error with the Support site suggestions.

 

TLS security setting

• In the Windows Search bar, type Internet Options.
• Open the app and got to the Advanced tab.
• In the Security section, scroll down and add a checkmark to the following:
  Use SSL 3.0
  
  Use TLS 1.0
  
  Use TLS 1.1
  
  Use TLS 1.2
  
• After adding a checkmark, click on Apply then OK
  to save changes.
