Windows 10: unattended domain join fails on 24H2 when OrganizationalUnit name contains unicode characters

Hello,I am sysstem admin deploying new machines to organization with multiple OUs. I've stumbled upon issue with unattended domain join with W11 24H2: when OU string contains unicode characters it will not join the domain. Thanks for the suggestion! I don't want to add a domain account, as this is a generic unattended install that will be used for all company machines. Do you think it's possible that the computer would join the domain if, instead of using UnattendedJoin in specialize, I used your steps but left out the specific account? The other thing I was thinking was to use a generic account to allow the domain join during the specialize step. I added a machine password in the UnattendedJoin component, and instead of getting the error listed above, I got an authentication error, which makes me think I could probably do a secure join instead of the unsecure join. Thoughts?

I don't really perform a domain join with my unattended installations, but from notes I've previously saved I have the following procedure for joining a domain in unattended installation: Using Windows System Image Manager to manage your answer file, if you want to add an Active Directory domain and domain account(s), right click Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup > UserAccounts > DomainAccounts under 7 OobeSystem and select Insert New DomainAccountList. Select the new DomainAccountList and add your local domain by supplying a value for Domain. To add domain users, right-click the new DomainAccountList, select Insert New DomainAccount. Click the new DomainAccount, add the user group and domain account name by supplying values for Group and Name. Repeat these steps for each domain account you wish to create. Type a Unicode Character

You can convert numbers from decimal to hex to octal to binary. But those are the numbers used as Unicode code points. They're the "serial numbers" for characters.

But the alt codes are a different. They're not related to the Unicode code points. There is no numerical conversion from Unicode codes to alt codes.

Alt codes predate Unicode by a decade or so. Alt codes are just arbitrary numbers that Microsoft assigned. So you have to look up the key codes. Do a google search to find a complete list.
