Windows 10: Unauthorized Windows 10 Update

Windows 10 just forced an update on me. I had updates postponed for a while and have been using the hibernate option on my computer. As usual, just before I went to bed for the night, I clicked the 'Hibernate" option in the power menu. As I watched to make sure it went into hibernation properly, a screen came up with the standard (and unwanted) "Installing updates" screen. I immediately began to panic because I had documents open and I wasn't sure when I had last saved them. Luckily the last save wasn't too far back and I will be able to reconstruct my work pretty easily, but this is still a huge problem. I cannot have this happen again and I need a good explanation as to why the fuck Windows forced this update despite having updates postponed and no popups asking for permission to update.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
