Windows 10: Unavailavle PIN code windows 11 28.2.2025

Hello, I have a huge problem with signing in to my computer. Signing in to Windows 11 right after switching it on is impossible. First, when I tried to sign in with my usual PIN code which I didn't forget nor changed nor made a mistake nor had I turned on caps lock, it said that my pin code is unavailable. I recieved an email then from microsoft with a one use only pin code. In worked, i logged it. Then, i turned my pc off. When i turned it on again, the space to enter a PIN code is no longer visible at all. Instead, underneath my name and profile picture, it only says "sign in". When I cli

Windows 11 needs PIN - lost PIN & Password - Help!

To reset a forgotten PIN code, please complete these steps: (Require your phone number.)

Step 1: On the Windows 11 login screen, click “I forgot my PIN” under the PIN password box.

Step 2: Enter your user account password and then click “Sign in”.

Step 3: you need to verify your identity, choose a way to receive code and continue.

Step 4: If you choose your phone number, enter the last 4 digits of the phone number. Then click “Send code”.

Step 5: You will receive a code in seconds. Type in your received code and then click “Verify”.

Step 6: Select “Continue”.

Step 7: Type in a new PIN and type it again to confirm. Then click “OK”. The new PIN password is working now.

Error code 28 indicates that the drivers for that device are not installed. I suggest you to try the below given method and check if issue is resolved.

Method 1:

I suggest you to restore the drivers to previous version by rolling back. To restore a driver to its previous version, kindly follow the below given steps.

You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

• Press Windows key + Xand then click on
  Device Manager. ‌
  
• Double-click the category containing your device driver, and then double-click the name of the device that you want to restore to a previous driver version.
• Click the Driver tab, and then click
  Roll Back Driver.

If you are logged on as a standard user, the button will be dimmed, which means it's unavailable. You must be logged on as an administrator to roll back a driver.

Method 2:

If there no internet connection, I suggest you to download the Ethernet and Network adaptor driver setup file
from the manufacturer’s website using other PC and install it. Double click on the driver setup file and install it and check if internet start working.

Forgotten PIN and expired password

Thanks for your answer.

I tried steps of both links:

• #1: reset PIN code
  
  • I see no link "reset your PIN"on login page --> I can't reset it
    
• #2: change or reset windows password
  
  • My Windows account is not displayed at all on login page.
    
  • I am using a local account
    

If you have any other suggestion, I would be more than happy to try.
