    Unbootable state for AMD devices in Windows 10 Version 1803


    Hi. I believe we were caught up in that Spectre and Meltdown chip bug fix, where my daughter's older computer would not boot after I updated her Windows 10 install. I rolled back past the update that caused the issue and turned off automatic updates. I thought I had read recently that the latest round of Microsoft updates addressed the older AMD computers and I turned updates back on, but we still have a boot problem; machine boots to the black BIOS screen and we have to hit F1 (once) to get Windows up and running normally (no issues until we have to reboot again).


    Some details on our older system are below and the system is up-to-date. Is there a fix we missed or are we stuck with the current state? Thanks!

    KB4073290.

    I'm not seeing this offered automatically via Windows Update, but there's a download link.
