Windows 10: Undo user folder location change/ failed to build regular subdirectories under...

Hello:


I wanted to move my Downloads folder to my D disk because I was running out of storage on my C disk. I had already moved my Documents and Pictures folders there:


However, when I was changing the file location, I made a mistake, and instead of moving to D:\ Users\myname\Downloads, it]s been moved to the D without any sub folders:






I'm trying to move this back to it's default location, then I get this error


I know I messed up when moving the folder. Please help me with this situation.... how can I fix/undo this?? will the folder locations be set to default if I reset my PC? I have a lot apps installed so I don't want to try that too soon

I am trying to restore my Documents to its default location from one of the volumes and getting this when I hit "Restore Default".

Failed to build the list of regular subdirectories under "I:\System Volume Information".
Access is defied.

It is a permissions thing, but when I check under "Your info", it says "Local account / administrator".
Why is everything so complicated and confusing under Win10?

what worked was:

 

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions
