    so after the past few weeks of trying to troubleshoot and fix it on my own im turning to the microsoft threads. whenever i tried to install anything like large games there would be an almost guarantee of my pc getting the bsod. continuing the download after the computer restarted would either lead to another bsod or a corrupted file when i would try and launch it. i got fed up and completely wiped my pc and drives, factory resetting it but the problem still continued after doing so, giving more bsod. when checking with the event viewer i got the message Faulting application name:&nb

    [Windows 10 BSOD] Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap

    Unexpected kernel mode trap BSOD always appears when I try to update Windows 10 or reset the PC.

    I've tried many solutions, such as:

    -Disconnecting external devices

    -Booting in safe mode

    -Memory diagnostic

    -chkdsk

    none of which worked. Any suggestions to this problem would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Thanks. I'm on with it. A couple of questions 1) Info above mentioned something about Western Digital 5tb corruption - that is my external drive I had plugged in to back up all the files when things started going wrong. Does this indicate my backup files might be corrupted? 2) What is 13A F7 7F 4E please? Also I've uninstalled an extension (adblock plus) from Firefox. Had issues with that before and the problem only started when I started firefox. Bios - .20 was only updated recently by HP Support Assistant - wondered if that had caused issues. Version .21 states you cannot downgrade bios after installing it. Might leave doing that till last! - - - Updated - - - Tuneup.log - Google Drive - - - Updated - - -
