  2. C Drive icon disapear?

I was trying to install need for speed pro street demo. I install it in C drive directory. Somehow it got currupted.. so I delete the files manually in C drive and reboot and download pro street again.

Now my C drive picture Icon disapear and now it just a white square. Did when I was deleting pro street files in C drive somehow it effect the C drive icon? or did I accidently delete something that is not pro street file?

How do I make my C drive picture Icon back?

  3. An unfamiliar desktop icon appearance ShellClassInfo

    Hi EllenMoss,

Those icons will appear when the Desktop.ini file exists in one or more of the following folders:

    • C:\Users\<user profile>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
    • C:\Users\<user profile>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    • C:\Users\<user profile>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\

The desktop.ini file is a file that determines on how a folder is displayed by the system. You can delete the file but once you delete it and make changes to the folder, it will be created again. Rather than deleting it, I would recommend that you hide the
file instead. To do this, please follow the steps below:

    1. Type-in folder options in Cortana.
    2. Click on the View tab.
    3. Tick on the check box beside Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).
    4. Click on the radio button beside Don't show hidden files, folders, or drives.
    5. Click OK to exit.

If you have additional questions, or if the issue persists after the troubleshooting steps above, please let me know by replying to this thread. This way, I'll get notified and respond back to you as soon as I can.

Hi, i am trying to change my hard drive icon and have never done it before. I searched and found a little guide but it didnt work. I downloaded an icon from iconarchive.com and so its a single icon in an ico file type.

    It opened notepad and typed:

    [autorun]

    icon=C:\"the file extenstion".ico

    and saved it as "C:\autrun.inf"

but this is how it turned out:
