Windows 10: Unhandled exception at 0x00007FFEDD91FDF2 KernelBase.dll

I am having difficulty with a C++WinRT UWP app. I have received both of the following errors on Build:

Unhandled exception at 0x00007FFEDD91FDF2 (KernelBase.dll) in D2D_WRT_PaintProgram.exe: 0xC0000602: A fail fast exception occurred. Exception handlers will not be invoked and the process will be terminated immediately.

Unhandled exception at 0x00007FFEDD91FDF2 (KernelBase.dll) in D2D_WRT_PaintProgram.exe: 0xC000027B: An application-internal exception has occurred (parameters: 0x000002B0766F9B60, 0x0000000000000001).

This is strange because the program was working fine yesterday. Now it keeps throwing the above error. I loaded an earlier version of the program and returns the same. This makes me think it is something wrong with the system (perhaps the KennelBase.DLL) or Visual Studio. I have restarted the computer and checked for updates. I know that when it first happened in one of the Visual Studio popups I checked a box for loading Microsoft symbols. This may have compounded the problem. I have also found many posts across the web siting that unchecking the 'Compile with .NET Native Tool chain' solved a similar problem, but I cannot find this option in Visual Studio.

Unhandled exception in F12Script.dll

Hi,

I am developing an application in VS2015 and I have recently upgraded to windows 10. Now every time I start the application using Internet explorer and try to view the Developer tools I get an exception: "An unhandled exception ('object Object') occurred
in iexplorer.exe" and a list of available debuggers.

After I choose VS2015 I can see what the error is: "Unhandled exception at line 57, column 72496 in res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\F12\F12Script.dll/23/pluginhost/plugin.f12.js 0x800a139e - JavaScript

runtime error: [object Object]"

What was different on Windows7 that I was not getting this error? Is this error an Internet Explorer error or Visual Studio error
