Hi,I use Windows 11 Pro with a 3 way mirror storage space made of 5 physical disks =2 redundant drives out of 5.The storage pool is healthy HealthStatus : HealthyAll 5 physical disks are healthy HealthStatus : HealthyBut the storage space is not.OperationalStatus : Detached HealthStatus : UnhealthyDetachedReason : Majority Disks UnhealthyI checked this link: Storage Spaces and Storage Spaces Direct health and operational states Microsoft LearnIt says that "If you're not using Storage Spaces Direct, next repair the virtual disk using the Repair-VirtualDisk cmdlet." This cmdlet does not

Storage space on Windows 11 (build 22000.588): "unhealthy, detached, reason "unknown"", but storage pool is healthy and physical disks are all healthy

I have a storage space that's detached, unhealthy, but the reason is listed as "unknown." The storage pool is healthy, and all the physical disks are healthy. I reset the physical disks anyway and rebooted hoping that might clear whatever is preventing the storage space to connect. That didn't make a difference. I can't force the storage space to connect in its current state, but I haven't found a Powershell command to provide any further information about what's wrong with the space.

Any ideas? The physical disks in the storage space are the six, 1.82 TB ST2000DM008-2FR102s. The storage space is set up as dual parity.

Storage space on Windows 11 (build 22000.588): "unhealthy, detached, reason "unknown"", but storage pool is healthy and physical disks are all healthy

It's not a native RAID setup-- it's a storage space set up within the storage pool that I configured for dual parity using Storage Spaces commands. It's been working great for several months; the storage space became detached yesterday but I can't see why given all the information I have available.

I'll x-post this over there if nobody else weighs in with some more thoughts. It's not that big a deal, but I'd prefer to not lose all the data in the storage space. Or I might just blow the storage space away and start from scratch. I was going to add a couple SSDs to the storage pool so I can use them as cache.

  4. Unhealthy and Detached storage space

Windows Storage Space - detach vhd is not shown

I run a Windows Storage Space since 5 years without Problem. Storage Space contains two disks - RAID 1. Because I have a new Architecture I want to use the two disk as single disks.

    1. I did a complete backup.

    2. I deleted the Volume in Diskmanagement.

    3. I wanted detach the virtual disk. If I do I right click on the not assigned Volume (drive 6) there is no entry in the menu "Detach vhd"

If I use Powershell and Get-StoragePool, I see the following:

    Friendly Name OperationalStatus HelthStatus IsPrimordial

    Primordial OK Healthy True

    Media OK Healthy False

If I now use Remove-StoragePool- friendlyName "Media" there is an error message: The storage Pool contains virtual disks.

So: Why don't I see the entry in the menu "Detach "vhd"? Or what did I wrong?

Thank you very much for your help!
