  1. Unicode language settings

    Hi!

I have a rather strange question to you guys!

So the basic problem: The region of my system is set to Hungary, and the language set to English I like to use windows in English. I'm using a CAD software named PTC CREO Schematics 3.0 and it uses the same encoding as the system I guess, and I'm unable to display special characters like "Ű" and "Ő" in the software. If I change my language settings to Hungarian it's fine, CREO displays everything right. Although if it's possible I'd like to use Windows in English but also be able to display special characters in CREO... I've already found the non-Unicode setting under Language settings, but as far as I understand this is quite normal for unicode programs. As I know the basic setting in unicode Windows software is to use the same language as the system. Is it possible to change this for certain apps? BTW Microsoft Word and other office apps work fine, every character is displayed correctly. Thanks!

    :)

    Unicodes and language packs

Several work arounds can be found at http://www.johndcook.com/blog/2008/0...rs-in-windows/
    1. as I suggested above, U+(hexcode) Alt-X
    2. edit a registry key and hold down the Alt key while entering the code on the numeric keypad
    3. download the free utility called UnicodeInput, which pops up with the Alt-+ key
None of these are useful on my Surface Pro virtual keyboard which is missing both the Alt key numeric keypad *Sad

Changes to language for not unicode programs in Windows 10 not applied

I'm trying to change the Language for non unicode programs in Windows 10.

    I tried these steps:

Region -> Administrative -> Language for non-unicode programs -> Change system locale -> Select language

After selecting the language I'm prompted to restart the computer, but after restart I still see the old settings.

Note: The language pack for the selected language is installed.

How to change this setting ?
