    Unidentified update


    When I attempted to boot-up my laptop running Office 365 home, it became non-responsive after I entered my PIN. After waiting several minutes for response including use of Ctrl/Alt/Delete, I did a hard stop and restart. It became clear at this point that I was getting an update rotating dots, although no other message i.e. updating appeared on screen. After about 7 minutes, my logon page finally re-appeared and I was able to access laptop. When I checked my Update History, I did not see any current updates either Qual

    Hi, Badrobot and thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately the issue is still not resolved. The connection still shows as Unidentified and it disconnects frequently.

    To fix the issue of Unidentified Network in Windows 10/8/7, the following steps could be following in sequence:

    1. Turn off the Airplane mode.
    2. Update the Network Card drivers.
    3. Disable the security software temporarily.
    4. Switch off the Fast Startup feature.
    5. Change your DNS servers.
    6. Run these commands.
    7. Diagnose the network.

    Have you tried the basic troubleshooting procedure? Resetting the modem and router? Just unplug and plug back in again. Do it one at a time and start with the modem first.
