Windows 10: Uninstall a program in Windows10

Hi everyone...I am new to this community and I can use some help. I am a 70 yr old lady who is in college for the first time. Last fall I took a Linux class where we installed VMWare Workstation Pro on my computer. This semester I am taking a WordPress class that uses VMWare Workstation Player. When I try to install the VM Player from the .exc file it says it can't install because I have the VM Pro still installed. I have gone to the control panel and the VM Pro is listed but when I hold down the right click button the uninstall button is there but is grayed out so it is unusable. I have gone into my downloads file and deleted the icons from my desktop thinking that would remove it but of course it didn't. I have Googled the problem and tried the 3 different options from Microsoft but nothing works.


I honestly don't know where to go from here. I read through the community answers here but I can't seem to get anywhere. I have tried restarting my computer but to no avail. Does anyone know what I should try next? My teacher doesn't seem to be of much help. I don't have the option to drop the class as I am on a program that ends in Dec and I have to take this class.

can't uninstall program

- Did you try un-installing the program from programs and features?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Repairing or removing programs

To uninstall programs, go to Settings.

• On the Start menu, then select Settings.
• Select System > Apps & features.
• Select the program, then select Uninstall. Some apps that are built in to Windows can’t be uninstalled.
  
• Follow the directions on the screen.

If you are still unable to uninstall the program, follow the steps below.

• In Search, enter Control Panel and select Control Panel.
• Select Programs > Programs and Features, then select the program.
• Select the program, then select Uninstall. Some apps that are built in to Windows can’t be uninstalled.
  
• Follow the directions on the screen.

How do you uninstall chipset drivers?

I'm installing a new mobo so I need to uninstall the intel 865g drivers to make way for the P35 drivers.

Can't find any uninstall options in add/remove programs and intel chipset inst listed in driver cleaner.

Any suggestions? *Confused
