Windows 10: Uninstall corrupt windows10.

Some 12 months ago Windows update corrupted my version of Windows10. Spent the best part of a day chatting to Microsoft help and in the end they decided the only thing to do was to reinstall. I now have the originalCorrupt version on the HDD and the current, working version on an HDD. This has worked OKmainly but I suspect that on every update Windows tries to update the corrupt version. Can I safely remove the old corrupt version and if so how?

How do you uninstall chipset drivers?

I'm installing a new mobo so I need to uninstall the intel 865g drivers to make way for the P35 drivers.

Can't find any uninstall options in add/remove programs and intel chipset inst listed in driver cleaner.

Any suggestions? *Confused

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
