Windows 10: Uninstall crippled program

Hello,
Once I have installed "Paintshop pro 6.02" (I know, it's an old version). In time some features stopped working, the main program still works. Now I got a newer (retail) version, I do not want to install it over the crippled one. I searched the registry and found few entries without any values. Shell I delete these entries befor installing the newer version ?
How about making a test while "Timefreeze" is 'on' ?

Unable to uninstall an app on Windows 10

Is this actually safe to do? I uninstalled the default apps that came with windows 10 this way and I got a lot of updates whose hashes include these programs. I get the windows updates installed but the updates are adding things for programs that are not
there. I now, 8 month later have an issue with .dll errors and library error from programs that are not installed but I got updates for. In settings I could uninstall these apps if the uninstall wasn't greyed out, it seems Microsoft is attempting to force
these apps on people and the system becomes unstable when default apps are removed. Can you point to a white paper, yellow paper or KB document that says this is the only/best way to remove default apps. Following this advice has crippled my workstation.

 

Windows 10 Update Killed Printer

I just bought a new computer and am using windows 10. On January 1 there was a massive update to the software which killed my HP printer program. My HP Solutions Center icon would not bring up the task manager for printing etc. Searching the web I
found out that one specific windows update crippled the printer. By uninstalling KB3132372 I was able to regain use of my printer.

 

You can safely uninstall v6.02 if you have the original installation from Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features. Then install the new version. You might be able to keep both versions if you want to try installing v6.03 again - but why would you need that? The installer should give a warning if you try installing an older version if it's not possible to use both versions.

 

You can try some uninstaller to do a forced uninstall, like with Wise Program Uninstaller or GeekUninstaller.
