Windows 10: Uninstalled OneDrive and all the files stored on my PC disappeared.

Hello, I recently uninstalled OneDrive and all of the files stored on my PC disappeared. I do not use OneDrive and I never set up a sync. I had a OneDrive account associated with a college email address that I no longer use, but the files are not in that account either.I took my computer to a fixer place, and the guy says my files are not on my drive anywhere. I have windows 11 and do not subscribe to Microsoft365 But I believe the college email address came with 365, so I may still have access through that.I would very much like to talk with a real person as the Microsoft help pages to not

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

OneDrive Issues- This PC Documents disappeared but still remains on OneDrive

If your files are still showing in OneDrive, you may still get them back in the This PC folder by configuring the settings of OneDrive. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Right click on the OneDrive (blue/whitecloud) icon located in your taskbar.
• Click Settings.
• On the Account tab, select Choose folders.
• At this point, you will have the option to choose which file you would like to sync and appear in the This PC folder. Select which files you want and click
  OK.

Unable to uninstall Onedrive For Business

OneDrive can be uninstalled from some versions of Windows 10:

1. Select the Start button, type Programs in the search box, and then select Add or remove programs in the list of results.
   
2. Under Apps & features, find and select Microsoft OneDrive, and then select Uninstall.
   

As OneDrive is built in to some versions of Windows and can't be uninstalled. As a workaround, you can hide it. Reference “Turn off or uninstall OneDrive” for detail steps:
