    Uninstalling Program error

Hopefully I can explain this properly. Also, I recognize there were many dumb decisions on my part through this whole ordeal.

I needed to find a driver for a MIDI device that I wanted to use on my pc. the MIDI device is old and it required a product key in order to use. Since I don't have the product key I decided to search for a driver or a way to jail break the device. I found a website that had a supposedly driver to be able to use the device. I checked around before downloading the driver to make sure there was nothing too risky from the source website. Downloading the driver wasn't a problem at all since I was able to remove it fairly simple, and it's not even part of the main issue.

What happened next is that the install.exe for the driver "required" that I obtained a Driverfinder software in order to proceed with the installation. At that point all the red flags were there, when even my firewall tried to warn me not to go ahead with the installation. Any ways, I proceeded to install the DriverFinder software. When the installation was complete I tried running the software and it failed to open. I thought I must have done something wrong, so I went through the installation process again. Just like the first time, at the end of the installation the software was not opening.

At that point I tried uninstalling the program using its own uninstall.exe file, but the file failed to run the uninstall, giving me warning messages of a corrupted file. I tried uninstalling and removing the entire folder through the conventional ways, but nothing worked. Finally, I went into command prompts to find the id root and was able to remove the entire folder with all its files that way.

So, at this point the folder for DriverFinder is gone from my program files, However the app is still showing up on the list of apps when I go in to Windows setting - add/remover apps. Of course, just like before, when I try to hit Uninstall from there the error message now is

"Windows cannot find \driverfinder\unistall.exe check the address and try again."

Which makes sense given that I removed the folder. I have done basic checks to ensure nothing unknown or unwanted is running on my pc by checking task manager, deleting cookies and other files from my browsers. I've done a few checks in safe mode, and everything seems to be fine with nothing that I don't recognize running in the background.

    Here is the question:

How do I remove the DriverFinder from the app list in windows settings?

Since it is still showing up on the app list, does it mean that it can still execute functions even if I got rid of the folder and all its files in command prompts?

I realize that the best thing, first of all, would have been not to install this in the first place. After making that mistake, the second best thing would probably had been to find a way to fix the corrupted .exe file in order to properly uninstall the program.

I realize that maybe downloading the program again would allow me to find a proper fix, but I really would not want to download the program again, if I don't have to.

    Windows 10, btw.

    Thanks.

    :)
