  1. Unknown and persistant folders in C:\ drive

    Hi.

There are two unknown folders to me on my C:\ drive. When I tried to delete them, Cybereason RansomFree indicates that they contain a ransom malware see below. It deletes them and tells me it inoculated the issue. Birdefender tells me it blocked a Web Threat with the info that it's a fishing attempt with the added link https://linksredirect.com I googled that but all the corresponding tips are not checking on my machine.

But regardless of the above messages, each time I delete the two folders, they reappear within 10 seconds with different folder name but with the same naming sequence a letter, a meaningful word and then numbers. They each contain about 10 files that pretend to be docx, pptx,...

I have read of LOT of articles and tried many, many different software solution:

AdwCleaner, ESET Scanner, HitmanPro, MS Safety Scanner, RogueKiller, SUPERAntiSpyware, TDSS Killer, Viper Rescue, Zemana Malware, Grindinsoft Anti-Malware, plus the aforementioned Bitdefender and Windows Defender.

Those have found several minor issues but none of those have prevented the main issue from reappearing.

I have two other issues just mentioning in case they are related to the problem above. 1 there are several webpages that Edge Dev and Chrome cannot open returning the message: ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED. 2 Running System Restore always returns an error.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jon
