  1. "Unknown command line option Dynamic Update" in a Windows upgrade?

I'm attempting to use the Media Creation Tool as a way to cleanly transfer my files from one drive to the other, long story, as if the tool detects you already have a windows installation, it will offer to also move all the files and programs and etc. from your old install over to your new install. unfortunately this option is only available if launched from within windows and not from a disc/usb stickI want to take advantage of this, but when I try to run the program, it's able to download everything it needs, get everything prepped, then get the setup window fullscreen before it spits out

I'm attempting to use the Media Creation Tool as a way to cleanly transfer my files from one drive to the other,(long story), as if the tool detects you already have a windows installation, it will offer to also move all the files and programs and etc. from your old install over to your new install. (unfortunately this option is only available if launched from within windows and not from a disc/usb stick)

I want to take advantage of this, but when I try to run the program, it's able to download everything it needs, get everything prepped, then get the setup window fullscreen before it spits out an error "An unknown command line {/Dynamic Update] was specified.", and closes the window, forcing me to wait through another download.

    How would I fix this?

I'm on a modern, custom-built computer. All hardware is plugged in, everything is running as it should.

"Unknown command line option Dynamic Update" in a Windows upgrade?

Windows 10 strange upgrade error . An unknown command line option [Dynamic/Update] has specified.

I have been seeing the same error while attempting:

    - to upgrade Windows 10 to the Anniversary Update (v1607)

    - where Windows 10 is installed via Parallels 11.2.1 (32626) for Mac

    - using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool's 'Upgrade' option

Within a minute of beginning the actual install process (after downloading the necessary Anniversary Update files, checking to ensure my copy of Windows 10 is already up-to-date and asking if i wanted to keep all my files, etc), the Media Creation Tool gave
me the error: "An unknown command-line option [/DynamicUpdate] was specified."

I got it to work by following these steps:

    - turned off the "Share OS X folders with Windows" feature of Parallels

    - restarted Windows

    - ran Media Creation Tool and installed the update successfully
