  1. Unknown devices still appearing in device manager after installing corresponding drivers...

Hello,I'm having an issue with my laptop after a fresh Windows 10 install where three devices are still appearing with a yellow triangle under other devices in the device manager, even after checking the hardware IDs and installing what seemed to be the corresponding drivers from the manufacturer. The laptop is an Acer TravelMate P214-51.The devices in question are the following:- PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D27&SUBSYS_13281025&REV_21- PCI Simple Communications Controller Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D3A&SUBSYS_13

  2. X800 GTO2 = Unknown Device

I flashed the BIOS on my X800 GTO2 last night and it is listed in the Device Manager as an Unknown Device. Is this normal?

  3. Unknown devices still appearing in device manager after installing corresponding drivers from manufacturer

    Hi, Padruig MacDonald

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

The "PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller" is a part of the Intel Chipset device software. If it's showing up as an unknown device, it means the driver is not installed or is not working correctly. It seems like you've already taken some steps to address the issue, but the problem persists. Here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Driver Installation Order: Ensure that you're installing the drivers in the correct order. Some drivers may have dependencies on others. Try uninstalling the drivers you've installed and then reinstalling them in a different order, starting with the chipset driver followed by others.
    2. Driver Verification: Double-check that you're installing the correct drivers for your laptop model and version of Windows 10 (e.g., 32-bit or 64-bit). Sometimes, installing the wrong drivers can cause compatibility issues.
    3. Manual Driver Installation: If you haven't already, try manually installing the drivers.

      • Download the chipset drivers from the manufacturer's website.

      • Extract the downloaded files to a folder.

      • Open Device Manager, right-click on the device with the missing driver, and select 'Update driver'.

      • Choose 'Browse my computer for driver software' and navigate to the folder where you extracted the drivers.

      • Ensure 'Include subfolders' is checked and proceed with the installation.
    4. BIOS/UEFI Update: Although the computer store claimed to have updated the laptop's firmware, it might be worth double-checking if there's a newer version available from Acer's website. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve hardware compatibility issues.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a more complex underlying problem with the laptop's hardware or software configuration. In such cases, contacting Acer support may be necessary to diagnose and address the issue effectively.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards

    Unknown Drives in Device Manager

I.ve recently noticed that ALL of my computers drives are listed as "Unknown" in Device Manager. I've checked in Properties to upgrade drivers only to be informed that the "best drivers for this device is already installed" against all the drives including HDD's, SSD's and USB drives. the machine runs fine and in Disk Management they are all listed as they should be. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? All hard drives appear in the BIOS as they should.
