Windows 10: Unknown files occupying space

    My laptop has space issues. The SSD has 237 space capacity, using around 110gb of space, but there is/are unknown files occupying space. I have tried all possible solutions, deleted windows.old folder, deleted all system restore files, limited space usage by system restore, and checked windows cleanup i also noticed that this space became occupied when i restored the computer to an earlier version, and it increased when i tried to undo the restoration.

    I am using window 10 2004.

    Unknown Space - Not System Restore Files

    I've had this issue on every Windows 7 and onwards PC I've owned and it's the dreaded "unknown" space being used that gets bigger and bigger until it becomes noticeable. The issue is this time is it doesn't seem like the easy delete the system restore files option within Computer > System > System Protection

    Here's the System Protection settings pages plus the command "VSSAdmin list shadowstorage" run as administrator which confirms no space is being used by shadow copies.

    Something that is probably worth saying is that I recently moved from a HDD to a SSD by cloning the original HDD. Since then Programs and Features has not been displaying the file sizes of programs correctly with a number of them being exactly 6.51GB and others despite being 20+GB games (Project Cars) showing as having no file size at all!

    Anyone got any ideas on what this could be or a way of locating this unknown space?

    3gb space occupied in empty drives

    I have checked the system files also but they are also not occupying this much space

    My system is having 8 GB RAM and 1 TB harddisk

    3gb space occupied in empty drives

    3gb space occupied in empty drives if I format it then it is only 107 MB but after some time again it becomes 3 - 4 gb occupied i have enabled show hidden files and folders also but there are no hidden files or folders.

    I have taken a screenshot of the same

    Both drive D and E are showing same 3-4 GB occupied
