    Unknown folders taking up space in temp


    Hi Microsoft community,Hoping you can help with this puzzling issue.I have many folders with a name in a similar structure in my temp folder I tried to add a screenshot but upload fails -0A6A1483-5364-4402-B6E9-EDA05DC2FF02Each folder weighs 9.8 MB.The content of the folder is many dll files and DismHost.exe.I have dozens of these folders and together they all weigh in total 55.6 GB!!!I tried to delete them, but the process always gets stuck in the middle and they are not deleted...Does anyone recognize what these folders are? Do you know what is creating them? Is it some program I can disab

    about temp folder

    Hi Hector,

    The temp folder provides work space for programs. Yes they can be deleted. We suggest that you follow the steps provided by Sangeeta Sarkar on how to delete Temp files on this

    link    . You may also type in the search box Disk Cleanup and hit enter. It will evaluate your disk and give you a list of folders sizes that can be deleted.

    Unknown folders in Windows/Temp

    Hi,

    Does anyone know what are those empty folders in Windows/Temp, if and how can stop it?

    They came with 1809 upgrade (same on clean install), usually after about 20min of every restart.

    This is what I see (in Event Viewer), always at the time of folders appearance.
    There is no such a file (Microsoft-Desktop-Provisioning-Sequence.dat) in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Provisioning folder.

    Note: Disabling "Use sign-in info to automatically...." in Account settings > Sign-in options, does not help. Same for SFCscannow & DISMrestorehealth.

    SOLUTION :
    Open Task Scheduler, go to Microsoft/Windows/Manangement/Provisioning and disable Logon task.

    Unknown folders taking up space in temp

    Windows's folder named "temp" take 250 GB of space

    Yesterday i saw my partition C: almost full (50 GB free on 490), i tried to see all files that take so much space and don'f found it. I did
    a search on internet and discovere a programm that show me which files take a lot of space, and was the "temp" folder in "Windows" folder. I deleted all files of temp's folder and now the files slowly being created again and take a lot of space. I'll upload
    some screenshots of files there is in temp folder
