Windows 10: Unknown internet traffic

There is approximately 40% of additional internet traffic waste comparing to what was actually used to browse the web or download. Regardless of the apps, either it's a browser, or a client network app that downloads something, if I download say 10GB, the amount of traffic in the Network properties reaches maybe 14GB in and 100mb out. All applications network activity is controlled using a firewall. Stuff is blocked until I manually allow connections. So when I go online, I know which apps are using internet and how much. But this tricky extra traffic usage is always added to current

KB4524147 / Startmenü / HP NetworkPrinters / unknown Network Traffic

Hello Microsoft,

• Printers
  • We have recived several reports from Companies we support about Issues with their Printer. From a close look all affected Companies are using HP MFPs. The Networks we provide with "other" MFP Suppliers are not affected. Our Solutions was to remove the KB4524147
    and restart the Clients.
• StartMenue
  • Some Devices have fatal Startmenue failure. This could be solved by your Artikel given on another
    support request. The Issue here is that we have on several Companies different AP types. One for example has standart Desktops like: Desktop --> ASUS H310M-A R2.0 ; Intel Core i7 ; 8 GB RAM Windows 10 Professional. All Client AP are sset up with the same Update
    Level. Only a few devices have the Starmenue failure.
• unknown Network Traffic
  • some Devices on another customer Network has started a significant raise of unknown Network Traffic. It did not caused any harm yet as our Firewall has recognized it and is now reporting every minute since then about this. The User is not complaining of
    any "change" on his Device? And also we figured out that remopving the KB4524147 stopps the network traffic. Reinstalling it causes it again. Again its on similar APs with same Setup like: Gigabyte Brix (mini PC) --> Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM / Windows 10 Pro.
    We are investigating still the cause. Could be coincidenc...

Please let us now what kind of Data or Information you need to solve the Printer and StartMenue issue.

How to measure the traffic on my internet line?

You would have to have all traffic go through a Proxy, such as a Raspberry Pi or another computer that can monitor the traffic and you can pull reports. Here is one project. Raspberry Pi OLED Internet Bandwidth Display: 3 Steps

Traffic avoidance

I also maybe need some help here.

This is what i did:

In Ovi Maps, option navigation, i did set traffic information to "manual" and change route because of trafic to "Always ask" (Sorry, i am translating from a different language).



This means, that in standard navigation i get no traffic information.

But while navigation i did select options, and then selected "update traffic info". The phone then graps data online, and then displays a list of traffic jams. Seems to be the complete list for that country, and a special marker for all the traffic jams
on my route.

But then nothing happens.

I am not asked, if i want to change route, and i have no further options in the list of traffic jams.

So either my traffic jams were not big enough to calc a different route.... or i did something wrong......
