    Unknown USB Device Port Reset Failed When Connecting a Surface Pro 5th Gen to a Surface Dock


    I have a Surface Pro 5th Gen and every time I disconnect then reconnect it to my Surface Dock I get the following error: Unknown USB Device Port Reset Failed - driver. I have to remove the device via Windows Settings -> Devices. To reinstall I have to go into Device Manager in Control Panel and select "scan for new hardware." The device is then added properly.


    How do I get it to stop this behavior?


    Surface Pro 5th Gen:


    CPU: Core i7

    RAM: 8GB

    SSD: 256GB

    256GB Samsung EVO Pro

    OS: Windows 10 Pro - latest version non-Insider all drivers and firmware are up-to-date.


    Surface Dock is updated with the latest firmware.
