    Unlink local built-in administrator account from a Microsoft account


    Hi,I've linked local built-in administrator account of my Windows 11 Pro desktop to my Microsoft account in order to save Bitlocker keys in my Microsoft account. But I prefer not to link local admin account with a Microsoft account computer has been setup for being used with local accounts and no Microsoft account login. Now I'm unable to unlink the built-in admin local account from my MS account a private account, not a school or work account.I've tried everything I've found on the net by nothing works, such asset back administrator account login setting to 'sign in with a local account i

    Unlink Microsoft Account from built-in Administrator

    Hello Jose,

    To help you out with your concern, we suggest that you create new Administrator account then disable the current Admin account that you are trying to unlink. To do this, please refer to Sangeeta Sarkar's answer on this
    thread. After that, create a local user account,

    Undo Built-in Administrator Account tied to a Microsoft Account

    OPs post does not make sense. The built in and normally hidden Administrator account cannot login with an MSA account and does not run uwp apps.

    I think OP is confusing the Administrator account with the default Admin account initially setup which can be a local or MS account - the installer tries very hard to get you to use MSA as we all know.

    Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

    Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

    I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

    It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

    EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Unlink local built-in administrator account from a Microsoft account :(
