Windows 10: Unlink Microsoft School Account from Windows 10

I have seen similar questions like this but the answer provided has not worked.


The provided answer is:

Click the Start button, and then click Settings.

Click Accounts, scroll down, and then click the Microsoft account you would like to delete.
Click Remove, and then click Yes.



This would be fine, but when I go to my accounts it has no remove button. Only a Manage button.

When I click Manage it takes me to a login screen for the account.

I have deleted the account and therefore it cannot be logged into.

My computer keeps giving me prompts to fix this account, but the only way I can see to fix is by making my computer forget about the erroneous account.


Please Advise.

Axcess work or school.

I linked my Microsoft account with my windows account and it linked me to my school account and I can't unlink it. Any suggestions?

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
