We use the desktop to stream to our tv so I set around 75 icons on the desktop for that purpose and were happy with it. After a few weeks I've finally gotten around to the laptop. When I started it I was shocked to see that the desktop was exactly the same as the desktop PC! Bemused, I deleted all of the icons and shut it down. Here's the problem. When I started the desktop all of the icons were gone--just like the laptop. I thought, "Ok... I'll sign out of Fir

  2. Unlink an old android phone from my pc

I go thru the suggested steps: Start - Settings - Phone - Unlink this PC.

When I first open the "your phone" screen the old phone is listed. Not sure if the phone listed is suppose to be selectable or not, but my is not. When I select "Unlink this PC" the phone listed is removed. When I select "Add Phone" the old phone still
shows. I have removed the old phone from my Microsoft Account. I have rebooted after unlink this pc but I still cannot remove my old phone.

Unlink combined contacts - People app

    Hi Ninaco,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

The People app is your address book. Combine contacts is a feature to link duplicates to a single contact to avoid confusion. To overcome the issue you’re facing, I suggest you to try the steps listed below:

    Method 1

    Unlink Contacts:

    • Open People app, click on the contact that is linked, and select
See More on the right pane.
    • Click on Separate for the contact you want to unlink.

    Method 2

    Reset People app:

If you’ve multiple contacts that are linked, resetting People app would unlink contacts and put everything in place.

    • Exit People app, if open.
    • Open Settings and click on Apps.
    • Locate People app on the right pane and choose
      Advanced Options.
    • Click on Reset.

Once reset is complete, open People app to see if the contacts are still linked.

For more information regarding People app, refer People app help

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
