Windows 10: Unlink Windows 11 after uninstalling Onedrive

I cannot unlink my Windows 11 PC from OneDrive.When I installed Windows 11 I got annoyed by the computer using my OneDrive documents instead of my own, so I uninstalled OneDrive in hope that it would help.Now I am having critical issues with some programs not working, because OneDrive is still overruling my local Documents folder.I cant unlink my Windows 11 computer to Onedrive, because I cant get the little "OneDrive Cloud" icon pop up on my process bar because I have uninstalled OneDrive.I have tried to reinstall OneDrive, but now that just works like if I go to onedrive from the browser.I

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

Relinking Windows 11 to OneDrive

I followed the MS-supplied instructions in Unlink and re-link OneDrive and am unable to re-link OneDrive. I have also followed the steps on the Reset OneDrive article, to no avail. I took the additional step of uninstalling OneDrive and reinstalling it from the Microsoft Store but not get an icon in the System Tray, so I'm unable to access settings.

Can someone offer additional advice on getting my Windows 11 PC re-linked to OneDrive? Thanks.

 

Unlink Pictures Folder from OneDrive

Hello there,

I am attempting to unlink the Pictures folder in Windows 10 from OneDrive. I have far too many pictures currently and don't want to have them eat up up space. I believe I was able to do it before I reformatted my computer, but it no longer lets me bypass it. I get a message saying Can't stop syncing folder.

Any suggestions?
