Windows 10: Unlinking School Microsoft in Settings

Hi there! I am really curious to know if I am to unlink my schools Microsoft account within my settings if it will prevent me from using the apps I have access to with that microsoft account? For examaple, my university offers the use of all of Microsoft 360 with the email they have provided me. To make sign ins easier I had linked my school account within my Windows settings. However, by doing so I have allowed the organization to make changes to my device. This includes losing access to using my fingerprint as a sign in option, and losing access to using certain internets. I no longer want t

Unlink an old android phone from my pc

I go thru the suggested steps: Start - Settings - Phone - Unlink this PC.

When I first open the "your phone" screen the old phone is listed. Not sure if the phone listed is suppose to be selectable or not, but my is not. When I select "Unlink this PC" the phone listed is removed. When I select "Add Phone" the old phone still
shows. I have removed the old phone from my Microsoft Account. I have rebooted after unlink this pc but I still cannot remove my old phone.

 

Unlink School Account

Ok that started to make sense now. So where you clicked is not referring to your main account/local user, but account used by email/Microsoft apps. So since your office 365 apps are using the school email credentials it sends you there. That’s normal.

The reason it is not listed under access work or school is because I believe you didn’t allow it to access your settings. When you sign into office 365 apps there’s a pop up asking if you allow organization to access your settings you have the option to choose “for this app only”. Otherwise if you choose allow your school email will be listed under access work or school.

 

Join Teams for work or school meeting with personal Microsoft account

When using your personal Teams account to join a meeting that originated from a Work or School Teams account, you previously had to join as a guest, often causing your meeting to open in a web browser with limited functionality. Now you can join as your signed-in personal Microsoft account from within the Teams app on Windows 11, providing a better meeting experience for all parties. In the first phase of rolling out this new functionality, you will get the new experience when joining a Teams for work or school meeting from within Teams free by tapping a Teams for work or school meeting link in a chat or community within Teams free. Your signed-in personal Microsoft account will be used when you join the meeting.

If you dont have the Teams meeting in your Teams free calendar, a nice little trick is to forward the meeting invite to the email you use to sign in to Teams free. Then you will have the meeting neatly in your Teams calendar, readily available for you to join the meeting when its time. How to join Teams Insider? Its easy to join Teams Insider for earlier access to new features and improvements:

1. Go to app settings in Teams free
2. Navigate to Teams Insider program section (you can get there directly with this link)
3. Tap Join button to join Teams Insider
4. Restart the Teams app and you have the latest features and improvements
