  1. unlock SSD drive each time after booting

SituationRecently my Thinkpad P1 died and could not be repaired. After buying almost the same computer again, I have installed the SSD from y previous P1 onto the new one. After some nerding around, I have found the bitlocker key and successfully unlocked the drive and can now access all my files again. Thats the good news :-The problem:I noticed that I now have to unlock the drive every time I am booting. My question is:1. Would it be possible to store somewhere the key so the drive is automatically unlocked after startup and accessible?2. After 1 is solved, wowuld it be possible to boot fro

    :)

    unlock hard drive

I just installed w10 and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a dell laptop with a ssd and it works fine. the problem is my second harddrive which is connected a usb and it has all my data on it, except it is locked and cannot edit a file and save the file. We will call that #2, #1 works fine, I can edit and save, #2 I can view but no edit and save. I use photoshop and when I go to save it states that the file is locked. #2 is partitioned into 3 drives and all drives act the same. everything worked on win 7 in the same configuration.
So with my whiz bang mentality I say the drive is locked. But I do not know how to unlock it !!! can anybody help me!!!
I am a old senior teckky and things have to be laid out step by step. Is there a program I can download to unlock the HD,??? or do I have to do it the old fashion way, step by step

    TIA
    Kas

  3. SMSSInit causing long boot time in Windows 10 with SSD drive

I upgraded my Lenovo G770 laptop to Windows 10 a month ago and in the last few days I migrated my C drive to a Samsung Evo 850 SSD drive as previous boot times were becoming very annoying. I had thought moving onto the SSD drive would work wonders, but boot
    time is still horrible.

I've gone through various sites and forums and tried numerous suggested steps without any joy.

Found a very informative article on the event viewer so went through it's suggested steps. Which led me to a critical event ID 110 - below:

    Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Performance/Operational
    Source: Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Performance
    Date: 9/27/2015 4:11:54 PM
    Event ID: 110
    Task Category: Boot Performance Monitoring
    Level: Critical
    Keywords: Event Log
    User: LOCAL SERVICE
    Computer: F1-Laptop
    Description:
Session manager initialization caused a slow down in the startup process:
    Name :
    SMSSInit
    Total Time
    : 82915ms
    Degradation Time
    : 72915ms
    Incident Time (UTC)
    : ‎2015‎-‎09‎-‎27T15:08:45.868751200Z

Problem is, I've no idea what it's trying to do here and there are no further details given.

Any gurus out there can point me in the right direction or let me know what additional information I can give to help you identify the possible issue?

    Many thanks in advance!

    SSD as Boot Drive? How?

Well, I have Windows installed on the SSD, along with the drivers and browser. Now, I'm trying to install other stuff (Steam, games, etc.), but the mechanical drive isn't showing. I'm sure I missed a step?
