Windows 10: Unlock windows 10 device after remote locl

I had lost a windows 10 pro computer surface book 2 , and used the capabilities on the microsoft website to lock the device. Later, I was able to get the computer back.


When I go to the computer, it's giving me the message I'd set on the MS web site. All good.


When I attempt to log in via windows hello, I get the message "an administrator had restricted sign in. To sign in, make sure your device is connected to the internet, and have your administrator sign in first.."


The only two options presented to me on sign in are face, and pin. No other account presented on the lock screen. No option to change users, or log in with my MS account username password.


Any way out of this short of a reinstall?

Am trying to unlock a remotely locked device

My mother - lives on the west coast and I am on the east coast - accidentally remotely locked her computer. Now it indicates that it requires an administrator to logon first to unlock it. However, despite resetting the Microsoft account password multiple
times, etc. she can't get into her computer. I can remotely lock the computer -- can see it on the list of devices -- but can't unlock it. She is elderly, not that computer savvy, and has limited access to any transportation that could take her to Best Buy
or some other professional help. Am trying to help via phone and cell phone... but have not been able to help her get into her computer.

I suggest you to refer the below steps and see if this helps.

• 
  Enable remote desktop in settings
  
  • Control Panel\System and Security\System, Click "Remote Settings" on the left side
• 
  Verify my port forwarding settings were properly forwarding to my computers local IP address
  
  • run "cmd.exe" and then type "ipconfig". Find your IP from that list

• Make sure your firewall settings are open
• Go to "Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall\Allowed apps"

• On the left, click "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall"
• Click "Change Settings"
• Find "Remote Desktop" in the list and make sure both "Private" and "Public" is checked.
