Windows 10: Unlocking bitlocked drive keeps rearranging Desktop icons

I run Win11 22H2. My data drive D: has a BitLocker on. This is where I keep my Desktop files, too.Everytime I unlock D: the Desktop icons are rearranged. How to store the icon arrangement until the next unlocking?

Desktop icons keep rearranging


Hello,

My desktop icons keep rearranging and windows explorer won't save the position I put them in.

I can rearrange them but when I click 'Refresh' or if I restart explorer or if I reboot they rearrange to another setup. This happens in both normal mode and safe mode.

I have tried all the solutions available on the internet with no luck, including the obvious ones (trying all the auto-arrange and grid options) and even some more complex ones (sfc, registry tweaks).

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Let's sort out this odd behavior. You might be experiencing this issue because
the Auto arrange icons option is enabled, or you are changing the screen resolution causing the icons to be rearranged. Let's disable
Auto arrange icons and Align icons to grid, and check if you will continue to experience this problem.Here's how:

• Right-click on an empty space on your desktop.
• Select View.
• Select Auto arrange icons to uncheck it.
• Select Align icons to grid to uncheck it.
