Windows 10: UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME - USB Recovery doesn't work!

Hello everyone,


I woke up this morning to an unpleasant surprise: Windows wouldn't boot from my SSD. The error message was "UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME". Then, I tried to repair it via a USB installation media, but to no avail: I could only reach the installation/repair page when the SSD containing the faulty windows installation was disconnected.


How can I repair my windows installation on my SSD if I'm unable to access the menu when said drive is connected?



My SSD has been performing poorly for quite a while now, taking up to 3 minutes to boot whereas even my HDD booted up faster. When running benchmarks however, the performance seemed fine, archieving mulitple 100mb/s.


My specs:

• Ryzen 5 2600 @3.4GHz
• Trident RGB @3000MHz
• SanDisk SSD1TB this is the one with the faulty installation
• Windows 10 Insider program

Even though I ran into a few problems with the RAM, I think it's the SSD fault because as I said, when I unplugged it, I was able to reach the windows installation page.

Unmountable Boot Volume

Unmountable boot volume usually means a bad hard drive. Booting the XP CD and running chkdsk will sometime bring the computer back to life for a while, but eventually the drive will die.
