    Unnecessary Search

    I write my own programs.

And if they don't work I get:

"Windows is checking for a solution to this problem"

Then it goes off into a big search, that I have to cancel.

If I don't know what's wrong, my program will tell me.

I don't need any help from Microsoft.

How can I shut this search off?

    Don Cole

    :)

  2. Unnecessary programs

    Hi,

Thank you for posting the query in Microsoft Community. We appreciate your interest on Windows 10.

I understand the inconvenience that you are facing. We are glad to help you.

    Please share this:

Have you done any changes prior to this issue?

Let’s try the below steps and check if it works:

Step 1: Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started.

Please refer this the link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

Note: When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your monitor. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

If it still doesn't work then perform a clean boot

Step 2: To perform clean boot refer this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

Note: Reset the computer back to Normal Mode once you are done with the troubleshooting by following the section "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" from the same article.

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist.

    Thank you.

Method 1: Revo Un-Installer. Make sure to use an advanced uninstall. If this doesn't work, see
    Method 2.

    Method 2: Try running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (www.malwarebytes.org)

Run a threat scan, followed by a custom scan. In the custom scan, select your internal hard drives. On the right, make sure to treat PUPs as malware, and also click scan for root kits.

The free version is good and is all you should need, but the paid version is worth the money.

    Also run SuperAntiSpyware (www.superantispyware.com)

You should only need the free version. Do a Critical Point scan, followed by a Complete scan.

Other Tip: If Revo solves your problem, this shouldn't be required.

CCleaner (www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download) is another piece of free ware which is good at cleaning up registry leftovers. Again, you should only need the free version.

Let me know how it goes.

To disable the message run this:

    reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting" /v "DontShowUI" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

Considering this, you should disable this and probably the whole error reporting, since it is sending your code to MS.

    reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting" /v "DontSendAdditionalData" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

    reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting" /v "Disabled" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

    schtasks /Change /TN "Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\QueueReporting" /Disable

    sc config WerSvc start= disabled

    Thank you TairikuOkami,

Could show me how to do this in detail. [for dummies].

Also the same for this stuff.

I was trying to follow a post that was similar to yours. When it came add a new REG_DWORD windows asks if I want 32 bit or 64 bit. I don't know which. Maybe the way you're doing it I don't have to choose. I imagine it's 64 bit.
