Windows 10: Unplugged computer while shutting down and now it boots up in Windows 7???

Hello, my computer typically runs on windows 10 but after I unplugged it while it was shutting down by accident it now only boots in windows 7. When I first booted it up I saw that it was checking files looking for corruption, but I didn't pay close attention to this process. Now it resembles an older version of my desktop with software like audacity and old games I haven't seen or used since upgrading like it's a time capsule from years ago. All of my projects and writing I have worked on in Windows 10 doesn't show up at all and I am afraid I have lost hundreds of hours of work. Besides this,

Windows update failed and unable to boot

To assist you better help us with the information below.

• Have you made any recent software/hardware changes to the computer?
• Do you get any error message or code when trying to boot into the computer?

When installing updates it puts message “Do not shut down your machine”, if you unplug the AC adapter or turn off the computer Chances are:

• Windows resuming the installation process next time you shutdown.
• A non-vital program file becomes corrupted and causes some feature of the OS to become unusable and crash.

As an initial step I would suggest you to unplug all external devices if connected and then try to boot the computer by plugging in the AC adapter and check if you are able to boot the computer.

If the computer boots make sure all the updates are installed and then you can login to user Interface.

If you still not able to unable to get the in Windows Bootable environment I Would suggest you contact your manufacturer.

Windows 7 & XP Boot Problem

I did as that said, and was able to get back into Windows 7, but I did not have the option of going into XP. Response two on that page deals with that and says...

I did all that, upon rebooting Windows XP was listed as an option but selecting it doesn't work. I get a message saying something is missing or corrupt. I'm confused what drive letter I was supposed to use during the quoted method of adding XP support. While in Windows, the drive with XP is labeled as E:, but if I go into Windows setup it says the drive with XP is called C:. I had put E:, so perhaps it was supposed to be C...but while in Windows 7, the Windows 7 drive is called C:.

My current situation is that XP wouldn't work at all, but 7 would. I decided to reinstall XP again to be in the same situation as before. I'm unsure how to get them both working.
